Are those single or double dovetail mounting? I’ve designed some of those blades before.

Does that mean you are working on turbines now?

How much of the cost of this engine is tied up in the manufacture of those blades? How many are there in all?

Engine parts are, in my mind, ridiculously expensive. I haven’t spent enough time with them to know details, but it is silly. Granted, there are a lot of specialized materials and processes that go into making them.

Count of parts? A lot!

No idea yet. Just moved to engines.

Yep, jet engines and ball bearing is where it is at now a days.

There must be a list of every single part in that engine, with a grand total. Kind of like Lego instructions, right?

Were I in your position I think I’d have trouble not writing ‘shit hit the fan’ in a report. Maybe follow it up with ‘to be be more precise, a [bird type] struck blades [#s] of the [engine #] to legitamize that statement.

I don’t think I’d last long...

Bill of Materials/Part List

Airplanes have a lot of parts. Probably even more than you’d imagine.

It would be interesting to know just how many distinct parts, with part numbers, make up an airliner. Yes, I’m sure there are quite a few.

A lot. Like in a metric shit ton. All parts are expensive. really complicated to make, inspect. Why so much care is taken to reuse out to the full lifespan without exceeding. Also why a lot of third world aircraft crash and why they’re banned from the first world. Sketchy penny pinching. parts would arrive, go to inspection and then instantly to the scrap bin.
